HiLux? Wat. (Slow Build, also Daily)

So here's a stupid thing that happened.

We don't really have cool trucks here.
And HQ/HJ/HX, etc body pickups are too expensive for my daily AND a racetruck build.

Anyway, plan with this is:
1: Coils.
2: Discs all around. Skyline front calipers, subaru rear.
3: Buckets.
4: Rollover hoop.
5: better front suspension.
6: An almighty 22RE 4 banger of fury! hahahaha.
7: Moar rackar stuffz


It's gonna be my daily and my hoon around, as well as my foray back into hill-climb.

Doesn't look like much, and it isn't.
It weighs 980 kilo's as it sits. hahahahaha.

She didn't look very healthy when I got her.
But I plan on sticking with it as it's my favourite shape hilux body, and it was only 400 bux! WIN!

So over the Australia Day weekend I did some things...

Little things, nothing fancy.

1: Ball joints replaces.
2: New lower length shocks front and rear.
3: all new nolathane bushes.
4: cab has been stripped out ready to come off for minor rust repairs.
5: removed most of the engine bay stuff (AFTER getting the tired 18R running, haha, irony)
6: Test fitted my new rear wheels, as my fronts are still on their way. :(16x7 -6 front, and 16x9 +10 rear.
7: Wire wheeled and rust kill coated the rear half of the frame (comes in a rattle can! :D ) Overspray in places, don't care.
8: Ordered new lowered rear leaf springs and shackles, as well as purchased a limited slip diff out of a 4x4 Hilux.

Anyway, pix:

Steelies? :-O I actually NEED the unsprung weight, I wont have a tub for a while, so it need all the traction I can get with the alloy tray she will have for a while.

So anyway, plan for now is to hunt down nice 4x4 front guards, new drivers door, fit the seats for the cab, get the front end swapped out to a round light front end with new halogen H4 high and low beam closed lights. LED indicators on the guards and front bumper (which will be swapped out for a MUCH nicer, less blocky and ugly NISSAN one. muhahahaha. (It's gonna get smashed into walls and dirt areas anyway..)
Tubular upper arms and new wheel bearings are on the way.

So.. more progress will come.

I promise, it WILL get better. XD
I need it to. lol

Moving her into the carport beside the garage (which houses the currently not running because rotary race car) relatively soon, have to get a mate's daily out of the way once it's new motor goes in first.

Also, I know my yard is overgrown with weeds.
I'm sorry for the eye sore.
Been too busy fixing cars making money to.. well, eat, to worry about weeds.

Things happened!

Had to modify the front mounts a bit to get the front grille and light trim to fit perfectly as 4x4 stuff has longer mounts than 4x2 ones.
Lights all work so far.
Also waiting on my front rims to have their centers milled out so they fit over the hubs.

Oh, and I got all the gaps lined up perfectly. XD
Have to drill out the old bolts at the bottoms of the guards though and re-tap them as the bolts snapped.

1: Six tub bolts.
2: Front bar.
3: Mount seats.
4: Indicators.
5: Speedo Cable.
6: Fuel sender.
7: Front wheel bores.
8: Remove tub arch thingo.
9: New Tail lights.
10: Spark Plugs.
11: Maybe HG.
12: Swap steering wheels with the 4x4 as it's a cool 3 spoke one.

And then I can roll up for rego.
