      nova /camaro headers???

So what's every one running for headers on the 68-72 novas /1st Gen camaros? I have a set of dynatech headers for my nova . My bud also has them on his and he just sent me a pic of his and the hang way too low for my car, as I just installed full ridetech suspension. ...his are low and he has stock suspension...mine would be ridiculess and scrapping on speed bumps.....any ideas. I please don't saw flip mount plates around I read that thread and it doesn't work lol.....

I am rocking a set of Doug Thorley Tri-Ys on my 1969 Nova SBC (1 5/8" primaries, 2 1/2" collector). They make good power over the block huggers I was running (Sanderson) and have excellent ground clearance. My only gripe is that the 3 bolt collector is welded with a bolt hole at the bottom of the collector. I loose about 3/8" of ground clearance with that and scrape sometimes. This would be solved by a slip connector or a ball flange connector.

Ok sorry guess I should of been more clear....my nova is lsx powered. And am also using powersteering and ride tech truturn. Here's a pic my bud sent me last night of his nova with a ls motor and his dynatech headers....and his car is stock suspension, my car sits significantly lower.

The hookers don't hang down bad like that, same with the Stainless Works if your budget allows (around $900).

I wouldn't describe the ground clearance of the newer Hooker 1st-gen F-body/ 3rd-gen X-body LS swap headers as "don't hang down too bad" by the evidence given in the photo below. The ground clearance is awesome, but you have to use the Hooker engine brackets and transmission crossmember to achieve the same results. In addition to stainless steel, you can also buy the Hooker headers in mild steel with black paint or ceramic coating finish options, so pricing is suitable to a wide range of users. well I wouldn't say its out of budget but... planning on a turbo build next year so to spend 1k on headers to only sell them a year later isn't the best option.
I see ebay has some cheap shortys ....anyone have any input on those?? I suspect it will cost some hp with 1.58" tubes and 2.5" collectors....

The 12618HKR Hooker swap bracket kit is currently $127 on Summit's site as an example.

That depends on the Hooker headers they are talking about, the older 2289HKR headers or the new Hooker Blackheart headers that go with the new Hooker 1st-gen engine brackets and trans crossmember. The 2289's are not compatible, but the Blackheart headers are.

Have you installed these on a car with true turn?

Personally no, helping customers who have put them on their cars yes. I am the designer here at Holley responsible for the design and development of all Hooker LS swap products, which gives you a little more insight as to how involved I am with the product. There was a reported interference issue with the Tru-Turn system with one tube on the passenger side header when the new Hooker 1st-gen swap headers came out and I modified 4-5 sets for customers to get them to fit with the Tru-Turn set-ups on their cars. I then revised the production headers to incorporate the same modifications to the design.

I've never seen them installed in person, but you can seek out member cwylie here or on ls1tech and ask him how well the headers worked out for him as he's one of the guys I did the modification for initially.

That would be them...just make sure you understand that they only work with the Hooker engine swap brackets, which are part number 12618HKR.
