      Just a thought from a really old guy: on normal engines with just a few mods, the valve train is usually the 1st cause of failure. No.2: never trust anybody's work. Learn what it takes to double check everything. Even the best have bad days and make mistakes. It doesn't mean you need to learn to do your own work if it's not possible but you need to know all the clearances necessary for your parts to live. I live in a rural area and had to learn all this because no one had race car exp. I ran a blown alky dragster for 20 years.
