Speedtech Extreme Subframe spy photos leaked out...

OK so I'm the one leaking them but if you had something as cool as this to shout out about you would too. We've currently got 2- 1st gens and 3- 2nd gen Camaros in the shop we're testing the prototypes on and things are looking REAL good. We should hit production here VERY soon. Unofficially the 1st gen frame fits up front a 315 on an 11" wheel and the 2nd gen fits a 335! How about that phat fat!

Anyways, check out this link to learn more. All of our Extreme chassis and subframes will have the same basic suspension design and numbers, and frame rails will be custom fit to each application- C10, Camaro, Nova, Chevelle, and Tri 5.

How severely will the wide wheel fitment effect header clearance?

WE are designing headers for the LS (that is all we are working on right now) the headers are REALLY tight, and that is our only option. they will be made by Ultimate headers and will be 321 with slip fit collectors to maximize ground clearance the First gen are not even close to fitting on a second gen because of the difference in floor shapes so we need to do a second gen specific set. they may end up a mid length header as well to give even more clearance.

Jordan we have been way to busy trying to get everything thing done. I honestly donèt think it is going to be possible the ls is so tight and the 400 is a lot wider and that is the issue. sorry

Will an LS engine be able to use any accessory drive setup, or will it require ones that move everything up high? Related, will there be space to fit a dry sump pump down low for the guys that are going to want those?

Not jackets but T shirts might be an option.

As soon as we have photos of everything we'll be sure to have them up.

If any of you want to get on our ExtReme suspension email list for updates, shoot me a pm with your email address or send it to ben (at) speedtechperformance dot com with a quick "add me to the extreme email list" note. The emails addresses are kept sacred and are only for Speedtech's use to keep folks updated.

As serious as autocross and road racing are becoming, the whole purpose of this subframe is to take the "Pro Touring/ G Machine" world to the next performance level. Quite often that means the guys with the deepest wallets are the only ones that get to play (and hit the top 10 at events). We say that time is over, it's time to level the playing field.

The ExtReme subframes have an AWESOME introductory price of only $6899, plus crate and shipping. This isn't a stripped down base model version that you have to upgrade for it to reach it's potential, this comes with all ultra high clearance suspension components, Viking's new Crusader double adjustable autocross valved shocks with your choice of spring rates, splined sway bar with several rate options available, Sweet performance rack and pinion, LS engine frame stands and fully adjustable transmission cross member. The package ALSO includes the new exclusive ATS ExtReme spindle, which has better geometry numbers than any Corvette, Vette copy, or any other spindle out there. Pretty much you just add the brake system of your choice, body mounts, and a steering shaft, all of which we can set you up with. The frame comes bare for painting to your needs, or we also offer an optional powder coating service.

We've seen some great success from Viking's Crusader shocks, they have some very aggressive dyno figures and from a real world point of view several of our customers use them, I have them on my car and we have them on our C10 (Click Here to see build photos). They perform fantastic on the street and incredibly well on the track! We don't want to leave anyone out however, so to make sure we cover everyone's needs and wants, we also have JRI and ridetech on board for shock options.

All sales hoopla aside, with the experience of Speedtech and Ron Sutton paired up to perfect the design, the serious handling potential of this set up, and the fantastic price, is there really a need to shop further than the Speedtech ExtReme subframe?

Good ? the factory ls anything AC pump/bracket won't fit. we have a new prototype Kwik bracke that we need to try ASAP for a small Sanden pump that may fit down low. as for a dry sump what brand are you looking at? obviously the GM LS dry sump set up will fit with our oil pan, not sure on the others perhaps I can get a cad drawing of it and add it to the assembly and see if it is close.
give us a call to discuss.

      Blake,

I'm not thinking of a specific setup, but reading the Corvette Forums, and some other LS forums, the LS7 dry sump setup isn't necessarily the most desired setup for a true track car. Myself, I've looked at the Dailey and the ARE setups. I would take a look at those for options to consider.

I didn't quite follow your explanation, but it sounds like any GM setup with a low-placement AC compressor won't work?

On my car, I run the Wegner front drive setup, the WAK033. I really like it. It's compact, looks good, and performs really well.

I would certainly try to allow options in this area and not require just a single specific setup if possible...

What's the wheel backspacing required on the your new subframe ? I tried to find it in a few other posts but couldn't.
