      Mixing A arms?

Ok I am not one to mix brands. However I am in a strange situation here.

So I have been running a Global West upper (CTA-79A) for years and stock lowers with Del-A-Lum bushings. I was running a custom spindle (taller etc.) that someone made for me which failed this weekend (yeah that sucked!).

So now I want to replace the spindle with the ridetech Tru Turn system and replace the lower A arm with a ridetech Strong Arm and go to coil overs. That would mean mixing the GW upper with the RT lower plus the other bits and bobs of the Tru Turn.

Has anyone ever run this combo or has any experience with this combo before? Normally this is not something I would consider but if it would work fine it would save some money ($450).

      Cheers Steve

IMO, you would be better off selling your GW uppers here on the classifieds or craigslist and purchasing a complete ridetech system.

      Mixing A arms?

Usually mixing the lowers poses more of a problem because of shock mounts (affects shock length, clearance to shock bodies, etc).. I don't see a problem with running different uppers since the shocks don't attach to them. Since they're also both designed for a stock spindle, shouldn't have any issues there.

If you need a quote on any ridetech components, were a dealer for them.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping that the uppers were not going to be an issue. I will try and call ridetech today and get their opinion also. I will e-mail you to get a quote. Cheers, Steve

I have run DSE uppers with my ridetech lowers for several years with no issues. That doesn't mean that your setup will perform the same though.

Do your GW upper arms position the upper ball joint in the stock location or is it moved back or in from stock? You need that answer first before deciding on a strategy.
