      1972 F-100 Project 4 Kids 4 Projects

Hi All. Well, my second child turned 16 so of course we need to build him something. This one wants a real driver. Something for everyday. Starting with a 72 F-100 Short Bed. Getting a Coyote Engine, 4 Speed auto, Coil Over Front, Custom Wheels and a paint job. Don't plan to get too crazy with this one.

Thanks. This is the nicest base vehicle I've ever started a personal project on. Kinda weird to not have months of rust repair first. We're trying to have this one done by Christmas, which would make it the fastest project completion too, lol.

      interesting.

What 4 speed auto are you going with, how will it bolt up to the Coyote, and is there a reason beyond budget you're going with it instead of a 5 or 6 speed auto?

It's the 4R70W. Bolts up no problem. There isn't a controller out (yet) for the 6 speed auto. Only a couple of people have made the 6 speed work and I'm not interested in adding the time and complexity to make it work.

Crossmember is out. Should have the IFS one in next week and set the drivetrain to see what we're working with.

are you putting a crown vic from end in it?

looking forward to this; I had an '83 F-100 from my father in law when I first got married in '95. always wanted to put a 5.0/T-5 combo in there but funds wouldn't allow it at the time.

HP Tuners can now disable PATS... so you could use the stock ECU to control the 6r80

Subscribing... Keep posting up the pictures! I have a 1994 f150 lightning.. I want to do this to. I need to find a reliable shop in Maryland that knows what they are doing with IFS crown Victoria swap and how to wire up coyote engine into my truck.

What does it take to get coyote to fit in the CV IFS?

I'll know soon . Looks like if we use the mounts off a 2011-2014 5.0 F-150 then it will bolt up. The Mustang mounts are too wide.
