      Wilwood brakes and offset ??

Going from a bop differential to a 12 bolt differential. Looking to swap the rear drums to Wilwood 4 piston and 12" rotors. Which offset is closest to stock width from drum face to drum face? I have 275/35r18's and have a good inch on each side of clearance. Thank you

      Car is a 1967 Gto

Go to the wilwood page and look up the offset from stock for your selected brakes. I know wilwood has a pretty big jump in back to make up for the emergency brake.

"Offset" and track width are two different things. Brake or axle offset would be the distance the axle shaft extends from the housing, outside to outside, and is important in choosing the correct rear brake kit, but does not impact the overall width of the assembly. The parking brake is mounted to the housing and won't change track width one way or the other. The only thing that effects track width in the rear of any application is the thickness of the rotor hat, since that's the only thing that mounts between the wheel and axle. Plan on a 1/16" to 3/16" track width increase per side in the rear when upgrading from drums to discs.

I just went through this with my chevelle. Wilwood offered 3 different offsets for my car. Turns out that my c-clip 12 bolt had more axle end play than usual coming in at around .030 making it impossible to get a good offset measurement. I ended up pulling the axles and having them welded up to get end play down to .005. I still had to do some minor shimming to get the radial mount caliper perfectly centered over the rotor.
