      Budget pro touring

I'm looking to start a pro touring project but don't have tons of money. Not looking for something extreme just something fun I could drive everyday. I've been looking into something like a mercury cougar, mustang coupe, lemans/tempest, maverick, mustang coupe,Corvair. Any suggestions please?

My friend says Corvairs can handle really good, they are light, engine in the rear,,
      Corvairs are relatively inexpensive.

I believe the spindles are the same as 1st gen Camaro's etc. So you can add good brakes to them.

Here is my friends website. He has installed various EFI's, turbo, 3. liter big bore engines etc.

Mid to late 80's Fox bodied Mustang that someone has already done an LS swap on or the same vintage Camaro . Either one with some good upgrades can be had for 10K or less which is about what I am into my El Camino and I haven't done the brakes , LS swap , interior or any body work other than knocking some rust off and shooting it into primer .

If you want to build it yourself I would look to an early to mid-80's G-Body of some sort . Lots of them out there for a little money , easy to work on and new enough to not have a ton of rust issues .

Don't discount Imports. An early Celica w/ an Ecoboost or an 80's BMW 633csi w/ an LS would be way cool

Update this thread if you pick something Emmanuel427. I'm probably in a similar boat as you.

3rd gen Camaro. Cool cars that handle well and you can upgrade as you go.

check classifieds, i do have 69 Ventura( think Catalina or big GTO)for sale. seems to share several parts with Chevelle/ElCamino/Monte Carlo.
      price nego.
Has some rare parts, if i have to pull some of them might drop price a little. there is place here in Indiana that caters to FS Pontiac parts also.
      possible trade offer welcomed.
