      rear end diff fluid level?

I've got a full floating Ford 9 inch rear with inner axle seals and a fill cap pretty high on the housing. I could probably get 2 or more quarts of oil in it. Is there and reason to put in that much? Or will it cause too much parasitic drag? I won't have an oil temp sensor back there so I won't know how hot it's getting. Also quick performance who built the 3rd member says specifically not to use synthetic oil and with a true trac I don't need a friction modifier

I fill mine up until it comes out of the plug on the side of the 3rd member (approx. 3 qts), install the plug, fill some more, spin the drive shaft to fill the cooler, and remove the side plug and drain it down to the level of the side plug. Fwiw I've been using Mobil 1 LSD gear lube with a tru-trac with no issues, I was killing gears when I used non-synthetic lube.
