      First Gen Camaro axle location measurement

      I am in the final stages of assembling the quadralink into my '68 Camaro. Following the instructions, I am trying to re-establish the factory wheelbase of 108.0". I measure 107.25 on the passenger side, and 108.125 on the driver side. However. I am fairly certain that the axle is perpendicular to the vehicle centerline - leading me to believe my subframe is tweaked.

      What I am looking for is the horizontal distance from the axle centerline to the gauging holes in front of the leaf spring mounting pockets so I can at least get the rear in close to the right place.

      First Gen Camaro axle location measurement

      I am familiar with the conventional body measurement sheet:



      What I need is the dimension from what would be the 'G' gauge holes to the axle centerline. I have not yet found a source despite a lot of searching.

      I don't think that is a published number and honestly every car will be slightly different. IMO, It is not rocket science to just center the rear wheels in the wheel openings then adjust the trailing arms so both sides measure the same dimension. Have you cross measured your subframe to verify it is square with the body then cross measure the axle to the subframe to make sure the thrust angle is square? I installed a DSE subframe and squared it to the body using the rear reference holes, then installed a 4 link rear suspension and squared it to the front reference holes. To be honest, I have never bothered to measure the overall wheel base because it means nothing. All four wheels are centered in the openings, the chassis is square to 1/32" and the car tracks straight so I don't really care what the wheelbase is. Of course all this assumes your body has not been crashed and knocked clear out of whack.
