      Thanks for the great info

Finally decided to become a member of this forum. I've been lurking for a while, mostly in the suspension section.
I can't tell enough how much I admire and appreciate the exchange and wealth of knowledge available here!
My project - 1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe with 180K miles. I've got a fresh 355 with a rebuilt t-350 waiting in the wings for it. I've also done the tall spindle conversion, which I would like to build on.

My goals - road course handling and dependable horsepower.

No pics yet, I still need to get them in digital.

Welcome to the site, Daryl. Glad to have another A-body. 300 Deluxe - is that the 2 door post?

Yes, you're correct. The body is fair - the previous owner(s) backed it into something pretty solid and put a crimp in the driver's rear quarter and it has the usual rust issues. But it's a decent starting point, I don't owe anything on it and best of all, it didn't cost me anything. I took it as final payment on a loan that had already paid for itself in late fees.
