All good stuff guys, thanks for the conversation! I've got the Accusump system I'll be plumbing into my 71 Firebird with a 455, and I think this has helped me settle on running it in the trunk. I just didn't want the added capacity of the line through the car, but I guess I'll deal with it. Probably another half quart in the line? Gonna be some pricey oil changes in my future, lol.

Good estimate. I calculated about 0.6 qts, assuming 0.6" diameter column of oil, 10 feet in length. Weighs a little over 1 lb.
