Wow, beautiful car (I don't much care for that much body color in the engine bay though) but $215,000? Are they freakin stoned?

Very nice.. made me think of chicayne.. the paint and body work looks pertty much perfect and I like color matched engine bay (although not the color matched engine.. a nice contrasting color would be better.)

Alcon brakes.. sweet car.. If I was rich

Jesse Greening built that car for one of the big shots at Harley....
Car was built in something like 2months, it is very very cool! Was in the Bear booth a couple years back at SEMA

oops just looked again it says greening built it....sorry! it is a bada$$ car I dig the bumpers that are painted silver and brushed to look like brushed aluminum...hard to see in the pic but I thought it was very trick..... also the interior is very clean and simple!

I saw the car about a year ago at a Corvette show in northern New Jersey. Very sharp ride - done real nice with underbelly pans and a real "high tech" areo flavor. As stated above the bumpers give a brushed look as well as the rest of the trim for something a little different. The wheels look like 3 piece but they are 2 piece with drilled and powder coated spokes - again a nice touch. Lots of thought and $$$$$$ in the car - but $200000+ is steep to say the least.

I was just going to post the same thing! I was at the same show up in Ramsey. Here's a few shots from that event.

That is a sweet 62. At first I thought it was a toy car in the ebay pics. They did a great job on the car!!!

...you would think the owner of the car would know that it's a Bel Air, not an Impala

If it were mine, that engine would quickly be replaced by a dual-quad 409... much cooler IMHO than any crate BigBlock

the car is so customized how can you be sure it is a BelAir and not an Impala? i dont know these cars good enough to know the differences between the two. i know the Impala is a step above the BelAir and with that I figure moldings and trim would be the major differences.

actually the impala has a totally different roofline. with a break toward the rear 3/4 mark. and the rear quarter windows are different.

Its also interesting to note that the ad says that the car was a factory 409 car. a LIE.

read the attached article by street rodder.

quote: "Muscle-heads relax, it wasn't a factory 409'er--just a 283/three-speed model, albeit about as nice as you can get for a 40-year-old Chevy"

Like Tony said, the "bubbletop" roof was only offered on a very small number of '62 Bel Airs. All '62 impala 2dr hdtps had the "fake convertable" style roofline.

The "bubbletop" roofline is the same that the '61 impalas had, but apparently they had some leftovers, so they offered it on the Bel Airs only in '62.

They were the lightest weight of all '62 full-size chevys, even lighter than the 2dr Sedans, so they were the preferred car for drag-racers. Racing heritage, a unique look, and a small number produced makes the '62 bubbletops VERY collectible and valuable.

Nice to know it wasn't a real 409 car, but it still would be 100times cooler with one in it.

ok great thanks for the inof guys. i can definetly see the difference i just never knew it was a model difference. i always thought it was a year difference. i can ID the 63s and up but have always had a hard time with the 60-62s. this explains why. thanks

Interesting... that car is a biscayne 2dr sedan with blacked out posts... at first I thought it was a poorly proportioned impala hardtop missing a couple taillights. I'm not sure if this is the "truest" one if it started with the wrong car
