      AAW and Detroit wipers

I'm using an AAW harness in my Chevelle and I'm hooking up a Detroit speed wiper motor. What is the cleanest way to power the wipers? I was thinking about removing the 4 wires from the harness that are for the stock wipers and then plugging in the Detroit power wire into the harness. Any reason I can't do that? Thanks.

Your plan sounds good jusgt use the wiper source power so you still use the stock spot for the fuse.

I integrated the DSE wires into my AAW harness. I just replaced the original wiring on the bulkhead side and there was enough wiring to add it from the fuse box side inside the car. If you have any specific questions or need photos, let me know. Not too difficult, remember to replace the fuse size in the fuse box with the one from the DSE harness.

Did you integrate all the wires through the harness or just the power wire?

Also I thought I read somewhere that AAW sells a harness to integrate the DSE wipers? Has anybody seen this?

I did this when I was re-wiring my car. I replaced the "original" factory wires with the DSE harness. I cut the DSE harness, added the packard connectors inserted them to the original holes in the AAW bulkhead (engine side). For the rest of the DSE harness (switch side), I added the correct packard connectors and integrated them from the fusebox (on the inside of the car) to the switch location. I can try and find some pics if you need them.

i was hoping to see the wiring from the wiper into the firewall side and the interior side..Did you just remove the three wires that come for factory wiper and replace with the ones from DSE?

PM me a good email address and I will send you some pics. I replaced the original wiper wiring with the DSE harness on the engine side of the bulkhead. On the inside of the bulkhead (inside the car), I inserted the rest of the DSE harness (with the switch) into those particular circuits and mounted the switch. I also replaced to AAW fuse with the DSE fuse (10 to 30 amp I believe). I established the ground inside the car. Works without any issues.
