A lot of them are no longer in business these days. I can recommend a couple in Northern California. I am trying to think of the shop in the San Diego area that specialized in Mustangs. They use to do good work and I am not sure of they are around.

I use to use Guldstrand's years ago when I was in the area. I don't know what their quality of service is these days. I hear that Dick is no longer in control of the business.

Oh, now I remember the name in San Diego. JBA. I don't know if they are still around or not. They have worked on lots of non-Ford stuff in the past and I'm sure they won't refuse your money regardless of the car.

Stay away from jba , I used them a couples years back . They completely messed up my clutch install , I then went to rpmm , but I don't know if they are still there . They used to be close to mcas miramar , do a lot of research before you go to a shop

Damn, it is hard to find a good shop these days. Seems like most of the shops that had a good name were bought out by someone that has no clue in what they are doing. I've seen that so many times in the last 15-20 years.

my shop, current auto performance, was formed because of shops like jba. you can check our site at www.currentautoperformance.com. we are in el cajon in san diego.
we have done lots of transmission conversions. we have delt with centering blowproof bellhousings and setting up custom hydraulic clutches. we rebuild and up grade manual transmissions frequently.
