Nice seeing some non-LS power on here! I always liked how the rear fenders bulged on these cars. They look tuff!

The MSD atomic seemed to be the right choice because of the timing and elec trans control but we will seem hopefully sooner than later the only real trick is getting my wife to let me buy it . It cost almost as much as the 93 5.0 conv I just bought

been a while since I posted work is inching along, wiring and modifying bumpers trying to tuck them and weld up bumper bolts well see how they look when painted hope all that work wasn't for nothing. Iam trying to use the centers from some three piece wheel and buy some one piece barrels for them they are 20'''. Dose anyone know what some good backspacing tire combos are for this car? I want the rear dishes as deep as I can get them.-

Nice job! Always great to see another Olds on here and even better with the Olds motor as Nick already mentioned. I'm running 18x8 and 18x10 wheels on my 71 with 255/45/18s and 305/45/18s. I can tell you the BS is different with stock spindles and stock rotors. With B-body spindles and 13" rotors on the front the perfect BS to center the wheel and tire was 5.25" and in the rear with the 12" rotors it was 6". The lips had to be rolled in the back too. This puts both wheels and tires exactly centered for my setup so there's no rubbing or issues anywhere. The B-Body spindles and rotors pushed everything OUT so the BS had to be increased to push everything back in. I think on the stock setup with my old wheels the correct BS was around 4.5" front and 5.5" but not 100% on that. The bottom line make sure you measure and check everything and if you are adding rotors or spindles don't measure anything until AFTER you have those installed. To go as big as you can with no rubbing or issues there is no room for error. There is only one BS that will work unless you are going to do mods.

Here's a few recent pics for reference - mine is still a work in progress too but getting there:

Nice job you did with the bumpers... I'd love to see them in person.

Are you looking for barrels to have those faces welded in to? Trying to figure out your thought process to see if it can be accomplished. Wheels are typically, 1 piece cast or forged, 2 piece billet or 3 piece.

they are 3 piece wheels but as cool as I think they are every set I have had leak at some point. I have heard you can get 1 piece barrels and bolt the centers to them, I just don't know what barrels to look for ( fit my centers ) as far as fitment I guess I will just bolt a center to the hub and measure, By the way cs south how is your olds project going? I was looking forward to seeing pic of your car

Its coming along, finishing up the final wiring and plumbing in an effort to fire before Xmas. I'm actually down in Atlanta for the holiday....
I wonder if you meant 2 piece wheel barrel? 1 piece means just that, the wheel and the face are 1 piece. Its usually poured cast into a mold or machine forged. a 2 piece wheel would have a barrel as you speak. However I still don't see where you'd bolt the face because 2 piece wheels typically have the faces welded to the barrel.

I have heard of a one piece wheel barrel to mount the forged center. From a friend, he is looking into it for me. This is new territory for me ( what part of Atlanta are you in)?

Hey Rogie- Awesome build...I am at about the same point with my 72 Cutlass S. Would you mind if I PM you a few questions? I am staying Olds powered as well but opted to go the strange route and stay with a built 350

Pulled car outside under its own power today still a ton to figure out.
Headliner for moon roof, brake booster not acting right, steel braided hoses won't hold on high pressure side of power steering pump, need new tourq converter stock one wants to idel to low in reverse and drive.

Looking real good. Are the hoses leaking at the hose ends? Those teflon hoses are a pain to get right. Mark them with a sharpie to make sure the hose end is not pushing the hose out when you tighten them up. I don't know jack about fuel injection but with a carburetor if it idles too low in gear you would need to adjust the idle screws with the car in gear until there is only 100-200 rpm drop when you put it in gear. I am sure there is a way to adjust the low speed fuel ratio with your setup. Your brake booster may be acting funny because your engine is not making enough vacuum, It may start working better when you get your fuel injection adjusted correctly. I put a hydroboost on mine and am very happy with it.
