      72 olds build

      here are a few pics of a build started on a 72 olds cutlass a few months ago my grandfather bought this car new and it has been in the family ever since. so far front and rear tubular control arms coil overs 373 posi with ls rear brakes body bushing front willwood brakes and lines done paint and body getting close to done.

      drivetrain will be a olds 455 with msd fuel injection, edelbrock aluminum heads and a 4l80e trans I really thought about a ls1 but my 455 was rebuilt about 5,000 miles ago I cant wait to start on the engine but have to finish water sanding and buffing to free up space in my garage we just got done painting the last parts tonight so I hope I can post some picks of the car polished out this weekend

      Curious to see how you like that MSD fuel injection, not a lot of press on it and it appears to be a good system. How are you planning on controling the 4l80e?

      MSD has a transmission control that works with the atomic EFI and a 6al I thought I would give it a try.

      deck lid, doors and hood buffed. Doors, deck lid and spoiler installed we only had to paint it 4 times

      parts came in from olds rocket parts alum heads, roller rockers, gaskets, cam and intake also picked up a 4l80e, reverse flow water pump from diesel olds, oil pan, push rods and serpentine belt brackets and pulleys from 4.3 l Chevy truck I have a lot of pics but cant upload for some reason

      engine and trans installed cooler line fittings and shift lever real close to floor pan I guess I should cut floor pan was hoping to slide trans cross member back but can't even get cross member inside of frame rails. I wonder if the after market cross members are worth buying if I cut and reweld the original it will not be easy to take the trans out in the future. what have some some of you guys done or seen done to fix these problems

      ok I had to buy a aftermarket cross member worked great summit sales 4l80e to 6an adapters put a 90 on the end notched and rewelded the floor pan for the return line and ran braided hoses threw frame. Also got Ford fan installed to radiator and vintage air condenser
