It looks like Strange Engineering will have our display Bus be at the Champaign and Madison Il. stops. Since that is my Birthday I have scheduled vacation time to attend at least two stops.
I'm trying to talk the power that be to let me take one of our test cars, 2001 Trans Am or 2010 Supercharged Camaro. Super excited for this.
Hopefully I don't break anything at the Gladiator Assault run the weekend before.

Now that's a bucket list... I would add LSFest to that list but ive been to the 2014 event so i can scratch it off my list.
That's a good bucket list. I long hauled the Power Tour in 2011 and 2012. I think Drag week will be next.

And the stop in Madison IL (St Louis)? I hope things have calmed down some when the tour rolls into town come June!! Hopefully the 2016 tour has some better venues. I'm with the guys that want to see the tour go WEST!!
The Champaign stop is at the junior college and not at the U of I. I hope it means less walking, but we'll see. They have a lot of parking lot space but it is spread out around the school. I would expect it to be concentrated in the lots on the North side since the auto tech is on that side. It's nice for me because I live across the street from it. The autocross will be fine there, they have races there several times a year. Check out the auto tech class facilities there, really nice. If you have any questions about the are feel free to email me at my username @ yahoo mail. I posted a bit of info in this thread on classicoldsmobiles.

Any word on Auto X location yet? They did the drive through or practice run of the PT last week so they have to have an idea.

Birmingham has always had one, but I'd heard nothing of it as of yet.

Depends on logistics. One Lap for me is eight days away from home this year, six vacation daysb with the car being shipped. Add on three days if driving round trip from the west coast.

The Tire Rack one lap this long would take a good 16-20 days to do the whole thing. Not real feasible for many people in this day and time to run the whole thing. Great spectator event if you want to hit the race track close to you to see the cars.

      Hey Vince-

Nice to meet you last year -even though you claim Scott as a friend!!!

My 71 is not finished - so I'll be back this year in the 73 again. Doing the Longhaul again- fortunately this year I will have slept before hitting the road!!!

This is all I can find. I have heard rumors of an autocross at the first stop in Madison, WI.

There will be drag racing fun runs on the June 8 stop at Gateway Motorsports Park and on June 9 at Memphis International Raceway. Past cruise night experiences have included autocrosses, bands, drive-in movies, or special prize giveaways. The beauty of Hot Rod Power Tour is that no two days are alike!

      Sweet

      Richard,

I look forward to seeing you. We are trying to get the Camaro all dialed in this week, as Scott says he is long hauling. I can only afford the last four stops, but I am going to make the most of it. I plan on Auto-crossing and drag racing at the venues that offer it. Keep an eye on Jones for me, he has not had good luck with transmissions this year.

      Vince
