Baer Track 4 Front - Wilwood D154 Rear Combo

Seems I have a little mismatch going on in my braking system. I have Baer track 4's up front with Cadillac single piston calipers on the rear. The single 2 13/32 piston in the rear actually has more volume then the fronts lol so Im looking to correct that.

Baer said to get something that had about 1/2 the volume of the front (Track 4 are about 4 in. squared) and the Wilwood dual piston D154 with 1.12 piston is 1.98 in squared. I also want to change my MC to a Wilwood 1" bore to replace the SSBC 1.125" bore MC I have now, but for now replacing the rear calipers is my #1 concern and don't want to do this again. If I had the cash Id buy the matching Baer system for the back but that's not happening any time soon. That and the D154 are direct replacement minus the e brake so I can do it on the cheap.

Anybody running the Track 4 and D154 combo and if so do you like it?

Other info, running 11" rotors in back and a 9" booster with a vac pump. Not sure if the booster will be needed once I install the 1" bore MC but I guess it cant hurt.

It sounds like you're on the right track to balance your system. Given your proposed caliper piston areas, I would typically recommend a dual-9" diaphragm booster and 1" bore master cylinder as a good starting point. The 1.125" bore MC you have now will require about 23% more effort to achieve the same brake torque as a 1" bore MC, but will also have 23% less pedal travel.

If your goal is to remove the vacuum booster and pump, then I would suggest a 7/8" bore master cylinder and higher CoF pad compound with manual brakes.

I don't know that's it's a goal per say. I know the vac pump is a little annoying and there's no way my engine produces enough vac for the booster. It's between 11-12 off the intake. I've learn to deal the pump for now. Not sure what the advantages and did advantages of power vs manual is.

New D154 calipers ordered. It would be nice if I could sell this nice 1.125 polished aluminum SSBC MC to pay for the 1" Wilwood. I'm pretty excited to get this system balanced
