Ly6 6.0 317 heads ported and polished for $1800 good deal?

I have a chance to pick up this motor, 50k on it, but heads are fresh off port and polish. I'm not as familiar with this setup but seems like a reasonable price. I am planning on running mt F1R on it. So I don't want as much compression as the LQ9. I was looking for a LQ4. But then I saw this and with 50k miles and fresh heads complete, seems like a decent starting point... Is there anything I should be concerned with or would make me not use this setup?

That is a good deal. Has ls3 heads and vvt. With forced induction. You would have to read up and see if vvt is a problem.

It has the 317 heads he said, I thought the LS3 were L92... And there is no harness but has ECU....

Ported 317's will flow well and with a good cam make great power.

#823 heads, LY6 should have rectangle port heads. 08 and up, cam sensor on front timing cover.Engine for sale sounds like a lq4 with 317s. My2 cents

isn't 1800 just about the price of a set of afr heads? I would much rather have cnc ported heads

Doesnt sound to bad, but you may want to make sure all the details are correct. The LY6 came with 823 L92 heads as previously mentioned. There are several other differences between the LY6 and a LQ9/LQ4 can can pose problems later when you pick up a harness/sensors. Make sure you do your homework before you buy it.

You are 100% wasting your money porting any heads with a blower.. no matter what heads you run, its not going to make a hill of beans to you or 99% of the people here.. if you want more power, its cost $100 ie: pulley swap..

317 are lq4 heads.. Fr1 is over kill for just about everything.. F1a is the way to go because it takes less to spin it and will make more power on the top end.. unless you want to make over 1000 tot he wheels, D1sc is more then enoguh.. Made 900 on a 346... with a D1
