Tru-Turn What works What Doesn't Thread

Ive got my suspension on my 69 Camaro all together and now I'm trying to plan out motor, trans, and mounting options.

The combo will for sure be LS/T56 Magnum. The question is what mounts, crossmember, oil pan, and headers.

At first glance I really like the look of the new Hooker 12626 Crossmember. I think I would like to go with that. They also suggest using their pan 302-2 or 302-1 and motor mounts 12618.

I look at all the dimensions for the pans and it looks like the better choice is the 302-1. The clearance to the face of the deep part of the pan is much more.

The next question is headers. I have not looked far enough or measured anything yet to be able to answer this.

Whats your setup with tru-turn and LS?

      Thanks,

I used all the Holley stuff motor mounts, trans cross member ,oil pan 302-2 and headers the fitment was very good ,Iam running a Tru Turn with a stock sub frame ... I may have to barley dimple one header tube slightly..The only interferance is when it is a full lock

A little more detail please. Part numbers, year and model of car, drivetrain details etc.

If good data gets posted to this thread I'll make it a sticky.

I'm also interested in BBC fitment. 1968 Camaro, 502 BBC with Milodon 30957 pan and stock subframe. Lemon's headers.

      Thanks,

Yep, '69 with that exact setup and it fits great. No issues at all. The Kooks headers are worth every penny! I don't have any pics of the pan clearance with the Mast pan, but there is tons of room. I have the DSE steering box and last but not least the Dirty Dingo slider mounts. I was able to move the motor full forward and aft without the Kooks ever hitting. Hope this helps. Front rims are 9.5 with 5.75 bs and 265/18 Falkens. With a little work on the inner fender wells, it fits fine, and I think I'll run a 275 when its time for new tires. Car drives great by the way, I have the triple adjustable shocks and the car is on rails!
