Now I dont know about suspensions in any great deal, but it was my understanding that a big advantage to monoleafs was less unsprung weight. These look pretty cool too..

The mono leaf does keep the car very flat. We set ours up with short body Carrera's, and even at full soft, it was brutal rough ride. But I can also tell you we kicked the sheot out of a 90 (nearly new at the time) Corvette in the cones, skid pad and Gs. We got 1G out of it, but when it broke loose it was violent, LOL!

As far as breaking the rear springs. The goof ball drug dealer I sold it to drag raced the crap out of it. I had raced it a dozen times, but this guy ran points with it every Saturday night. With a 4 speed, running 12s, on slicks, side steping the clutch at 5000, he never broke the rear springs that I was aware of. Again, I enjoyed the car, but I am a bit hard core. I had a few people complain when they got the wind knocked out of them I the passenger seat.
