C6 Vette Upper & Lower Control Arm Bushings

I need of some advise on what is recomended for replacement A-Arm bushings on C6 Vette/Art Morrison Camaro G frames. Poly? Delrin? Solid? Bearings like Steve Rupp did on Penny? The car is being built to compete. I’m willing to deal with a rough ride on the street to eliminate deflection on the track. Where can I get just the fronts without having to buy the whole kit?

I have some poly for mine but my car is going to be more street and haven't changed them out yet. I never could find a good consensus. The Pfadt stuff got high marks but was too pricey for me. I think mine are prothane

Phoenix Performance in Pennsylvania can fix you up, as can Van Steel in Florida. It requires honing to fit, so most of us C6 guys send 'em off, rather than do them ourselves.

We didn't machine the arms at all. We just pushed out the OE bushings and made Delrin ones to fit.

Here's a quick screen shot of the front upper. . .uses one long Delrin bushing per mount and a fabricated trunnion:

If you guys go to market, you might consider making the UCA trunnion depth asymmetric. By that I mean that one side of the trunnion adds more camber than the other. By rotating the trunnion and bolting it on from the other side you can add or subtract camber. Offsetting the trunnion about 12mm (.5") should be possible. Also, slotting the holes to add caster would be most welcome. Oh: and a provision for adding grease.

That's my wish list, anyway.

No need for grease. We use delrin with Teflon.

Britt, What’s the word on these bushings?

I'm working on costing now. Delrin with PTFE (Teflon) is about 10 times more expensive when purchased in rod form than non PTFE (Delrin with PTFE is brown. The cost is why we chose to injection mold our Delrin bushings for the "old" cars, and why you typically see white Delrin used by most manufacturers who machine their bushings from rod stock)

I have some basic costing together, but the Delrin rod is quite expensive. I'll post up the pricing when I get it done. To get a little better I have to locate a better source for material, which will lower the cost.

I'll post it up here when I have better info.
