Tail lights are done. So we chose to make a rubber mould and make a solid bezel out of epoxy

Once the rubber cured we separated the buck from the mould and poured in the epoxy mix

Once the epoxy cured it was separated from the rubber and cleaned up, painted black and joined with the vacuum formed lens that was painted candy red from the inside.

Stock lens above and my new lens below. Still says 71-73 mustang but very different at the same time. Reverse lights will be relocated under the bumper near the license plate. Future project. If anyone was interested in doing something similar the local plastics shop is where I bought a full 4x8 sheet of PETG plastic for vacuum forming at $120 and rubber mould kit and epoxy kit for $200. CNC bucks and stuff is up to you to design and make.

Size: 182.7 KBHi all. I’ve been away from the site for 9 months and I’m happy to share some decent progress. As usual being surrounded by good people this car has seen some great updates. Almost feels like it’s not mine since it had such a big stall over the last 9 months and yet over the last 17 days everything happened to bring it so much closer to completion. Here are some pics.

Looking pretty sweet! I am not getting the louvered glass idea, I don't think it adds anything to the look, i'd just put louvers on,
but perhaps here is an idea, embed them into the back so they are more streamlined rather than looking tacked on.

The custom glass is just sitting in the opening. It’s not installed yet. It is actually flush to the roof and trunk lid when installed. It takes the place of stock glass so anyone can have one and drop it in. The point is that my Lou era have six small fins that are hardly ever straight, even new, and looks like an add on on top of the stock glass. It also is difficult to keep the flat black clean and it needs to me be out of the way to clean the glass. So overall it basically a less busy and cleaner way to have louvers

Car got painted in my shop Saturday. My very talented buddy Ivan - REDLINE MOTORSPOT. and I came in at 10 am after leaving here just 5 hours earlier. Tired as we were coffee and determination pushed us through a 4 hour power outage and a fussy spray gun sending us home at 6am Sunday. We came back at 1pm on Sunday and assembled our work. This is what we got....

It's great to your progress. It's common for a thread to die because the project died. I'm anxious to see the finished project. I like what I see.

Looking back at the amount of work that it took to get to paint, this project came dangerously close to going on an extended back burner. Glad I’m over the hump.

Marco designed and milled out these driving light lenses from 1/2” acrylic last night. Look great.
