1972 malibu / chevelle clone

Hello, my father in law is finally ready to sell his car. Ive had my eye on this car for close to 20 years and know the history of the car pretty well. Im kinda bias on the car and not sure if the price is correct for what it is and I would like some opinions. The car is a 1972 malibu cloned to look like a SS Chevelle. There has only been 2 owners on this car, my father in law and the guy before him. The previous owner of the car is a family friend and he drove the car give or take about 15 years, only ended up putting 30k miles on it before he sold it to the in law. The only rust that I can find in the car is below the rear window, at the corner about the size of a quarter. The car was originally a yellowish color and it is now red with black stripes. The in law when he got a hold of it took the 350 and made it a 383, and he put fairly large heads on it and way to big of a cam and it now has horrible street manners. Other then that its a car with only 30k miles on the clock and looks like what you would expect a car with low miles to be like. It has sat in a heated garage most of its life and it only gets out of the garage once or twice a summer, he puts maybe 30 miles on it a year. My only plans for the car would be to put a 700r4 in, different heads and a cam to make it driveable and call it a day. He is asking 10k for the car and I think that is a very fair price for a car in that great of shape. Prices for these cars are all over the place and I cant really find a bench mark to compare, like any malibus converted to a chevelle . I dont plan to buy this car to flip it but if I can find a better deal elsewhere I would go that route.

Keep it in the family. I would flip one in your current stable and replace it with a Chevelle without hesitating. My personal opinion but of course, I am biased as well. By the way, the family I bought my 70 from regrets letting the car go outside the family. I am the second owner.
