Sneak Peaks - New GMP PC 1967 Camaro

The guys at GMP thought you'd like to see a sneak peak at the next 1:18 Camaro offering. It's the next release in the Pork Chop's Chop Shop series - 1967 Camaro. It's definately something a little different and if you take a closer look at it you might find that it is along the lines of a pro-touring ride in a vintage hybrid sort of way. This new hot rod Camaro is based off of our existing 1967 T/A Camaro with a small block chevy, an induction system from a lola T70 and and a few other custom racing parts. Other cool features include stacks sticking through the lift off composite hood (magnetically attached on the model), blacked out minilites, a riveted on custom aluminum rear ducktail spoiler, and racing buckets and real cloth seatbelts with photoetch buckles. The custom gloss anthracite metallic grey and satin black paint combo round off it's tough, brutal looks! Our Pork Chop series usually sells out pretty fast - thought I'd give the pro-touring guys a heads up!

Nice, love the detail.. but one question..

How can it be a '67 with no wind wings?? ;)

I love it but I have to ask:

Will there be a 69? That's where my $ go to you folks along with any Trans-Am and Donahue models.

      Steve,

I can't stand wind wings!!! It's a custom, chop 'em out! I deleted them, looks cleaner. I did the same thing on my cal custom '68 BUg when I had one years ago. Made a one piece side window - it was it's first mod!

How much does something like that cost? It looks very nice.

not to be an A-Hole, but the vent windows make a 67. ive actually grown verry attached to them on both my 67's. looks good other then that though

Naaah, I understand. I guess I wear my "customizer hat" too much sometimes. I do try though sometimes to make something different yet still hold onto certain details to make the hardcore "factory equipped" enthusiasts happy too. I guess it's just trying out certain things and sometimes you find out well maybe more people woulda liked some details left on or taken off, etc. For the 1967 guys, if we do the next one I will make sure the vent windows stay. The guys at GMP always qppreciate your input and do the best we can to make a great product for the collector. Input is always welcome, thanks!

      John

P.S. - No GMP Astrovans, sorry. Although I had thought a few times that a slammed panel van Astro with 18s, an LS2 and a Twist Machine paddle shifter would be cool to build! I'm a freak.

I know.. but they are sorta iconic to the '67 and one of the few ways to tell it from a '68..

I want one.. it would so good next to my Orange StreetFighter

In a few classes, it was common (and allowable) for guys to run the 68 door. Because most of them didn't run side glass, they were considered about 8-10lbs lighter.

At least that's the offical excuse I got as a result of seeing a 68 Firebird body with a Camaro nose (Trans Am).

Johhny- any possibility of a 67/68 Firebird?

Yep- like that! Those wheels are close to mine (BS Rebels), but no R/A hood for me (that could change).

Thanks & ditto on the photos.

So authentic the fiberglass hood even fits like crap, LOL!. I love it, but think you are making a huge mistake leaving out the vent wondows. While you may personally dislike them, many people out there think they are cool. It probably will not effect a sell out or not, i just think it would be better more correct.
