      Black car, welds showing

I want to paint my car black, and I will have some weld seems on the quarters, I do plan on butt welding them but I'm afraid of "Ghost Lines" showing up, any tips would be great on how to avoid this. Thanks

Where possible, having a joint near an intersecting body line rather than out in the open is a help. This holds true also for adhesive bonding, which uses lap joints. Lap joints or filling in between let's say a license plate pocket without cutting out & butt jointing are the main ways to end up with ghost shadows later. Differences in material thicknesses can expand & contract at different rates & can also show up in morning dew conditions.. Good clean butt joints are the best way.
