      Enough front suspension travel?

I've searched around and found a lot of numbers for the back, but not the front...and surely the requirements are a little different.

I am doing fender surgery to get the tire clearance I need and mocking up my final ride height. I'm curious what would be a good spec for the upward travel...downward I have plenty.

Stock 2nd-gen subframe and control arms (unsure of travel ratio between spring/wheel)
      600lb Hotchkis coils
25.5" to fender lip at my proposed ride height
22.875" to lip on bump stops

That leaves me with 2.625" of compression travel, but that is resting on the bump stop...so figure 2.5 or so of free travel. Is this in the ballpark for my spring rate? How would I calculate it?

      Thanks for any help.
