Purchase tank now or after paint?

Debating on purchasing a narrowed EFI fuel tank now or after paint. I would like to start the body work before winter hits here in MI. What do most of you do? I have the hard lines ran the length of the car. Oh, also, where are most of you mounting your fuel filter.
      Thanks,
      Kevin

I would get the tank before. That way you can mock it up and if you need to make any fabrication changes you wont have to worry about damaging or repairing paint. Thats currently one of the final things holding me up from paint. My fuel cell.
