Not 100% sure on this one but a lot of newer cars have the gauges run by the body control module. If you had pictures of the back of the gauges, or the main connector, we may be able to help direct you better.

you could always modify a center non-gauge panel and use better aftermarket gauges

plus the factory gauges are oil pressure, oil temp, volt and trans temp (may not be your choices??)
would have to run factory sensors

and as dale mentioned, they may have to be run through the BCM ???

That console looks great and I love the shifter do you think it would look the same in a 69. I don't have the console and gauges I was trying to decide on weather to go with factory gauges or not

      Indeed, very clean job!

      Total side note detail
(i'm always so nervous to have a bunch of keys on my ignition ring because it may scratch the metal dash (which is kind of already scratched in mine)

I choose to go with the Autometer gauges in the setup that suited my application, so as not to be commited to just the stock gauges
Plus, I still needed a fuel gauge!!

I agree with your "side note"
That pic was from, just after swap completion and new wiring harness/ ignition switch
just had most keys together until I sorted out everything

      thanks, Jeff

good info Jeff....remember imitation is flattery....so i got my console through Ebay last week and i'll march down the path you carefully laid out for all of us....specific to your last response on clearance with the A/C... my concern was that i'm thinking about putting my ISIS system between the firewall and console...so imagine the ISIS boxes will be directly below the ashtray area. Not sure how much space the A/C unit consumes in that area. BTW the vintage A/C is Phase 2 (i'm running out of money for phase 1) that's why i can't trial fit it myself. thx again....

If it helps you to know that I have the gen 3 "411" pcm mounted under the 4gauge pod in the console
Used a factory GM Sierra pcm mount, trimmed a few "ears" off and mounted it to the top of the trans tunnel and the two relay/ fuse boxes for the engine controls are mounted just to the left of the end of the A/C unit, but away from the throttle cable
I have them mounted with studs welded to firewall prior to smoothing/ finishing

      Hope that helps
I can take pics also if needed

      Thanks
      Jeff

Tony here are a couple showing the clearance between the top of pcm (mounted on stock height tunnel) to the lower console assembly
Also, a pic showing the relay/ fuse boxes mounted to the firewall behind the "hose manifold" of the Vintage Air Gen IV unit

I can take a email more if you need

Thanks Jeff...eye opening with regards to how little space there is once you get every thing in place.

Here's what i'm looking at for space.....

here's what i'm looking at given the constraints in space....put the Holley ecu under the console and place the ISIS boxes under the seats...

this may not be for you, but gm using a really simple and common stepper motors on their new guages. you can tap off your new ls engines obdII port and get readings for those gauges. then you would have to write a simlple-ish code to control the stepper motors using an arduino. it would require you to tap into the steppers that are there... or you could just cut them out and use new ones (they are like $6 each)

I could help you if you wanted to try to learn how to do it.

Hmmm... actually, are they controllable from can-bus protocol?

side note, could you take some measurements for the area that is around the cupholder?
