      You will notice a sound tone difference when going from H to X-pipe. I got one of the stamped style ones, but the exhaust shop 11 years ago was too lazy to put it on. Did his version of an h-pipe, which had pretty crappy torch cut inside openings. Swapped in the x myself. Think you'll find the sound more throaty.
      If you want to spend a little less on cutouts later, you could do like me & oval shape the end of a 3 to 4" pipe & fishmouth it in right at the end of one of the x- pipe ends, turning the outlet basically into one large Y exit & of course requiring only 1 cutout. Adding a little length of pipe after the cutout & making it a side exit will improve the sound quality.

      Since Nascar uses x-pipes, it's a proven fact it makes more power;;;; at least on a left turn.
