1969 El Camino

I'm in the final stages of the PT Elky. L76 327, global west upper and lowers sport springs all the way around, front and rear sway bars, 18" Boyd Cottington with G-force TA's, Power disc brakes, Jeep close ratio steering box, Vintage air, Tilting and telescoping steering column from corvette and '13 mustang seats. I got ripped by Keisler, so am waiting on a Tremec from Hurst. Can't wait to DRIVE it.

I didn't want to cut the dash for aftermarket stereo, so opted for the XM with a console mounted amp with Ipod hookup.

What manner of Corvette donated the column?

The Column came out of a '88 Corvette. I had a heck of a time finding a steering wheel kit for it. MoMo was the only one that had one, so I had to get a momo style steering wheel as well. Most of them were weird shaped and colored because I guess they cater to tuners, but I did manage to find the three spoke with black leather. If you were looking for a tilt/telescoping column, I'd suggest one from an earlier model Vette or maybe a Caddie.

I got the front end allignment done and exhaust on last Wednesday. I drove it to work on Friday. Drives just as I had hoped. Not to stiff but goes around corners nice and flat. Love it. A little underwelming with the turbo 400, but still fun. The 5-speed kit is here in ATL and will be delivered by con-way Friday! I hate to take it off line again so soon after getting it on the road, but it is going to be a whole lot more fun with the tremec.

I should have it back together and ready for the Summit*Racing*Equipment*Atlanta*Motorama the end of next month.

The TKO-600 is in and the full interior is in now too. Hurst said my drivshaft would be here thursday so she will make her debut at the Summit Motorama at AMS this weekend!

Well it is all done. I debut'd it at the Summit Motorama last weekend and have bee driving it to work. The trans shifts good and she is a pleasure to drive. I was going to try and make it down to Daytona this month for the USC challenge event, but unfortunately I have to work. I did put in for the time off next month for the Power tour. I'm going to hit the first two legs. Anyway, here is a pic of the finished interior.

That looks great! Not a big fan of wood trim but you pulled it off nicely IMO.
The el Camino sports that color very well.
