Improving Safety. Direction Please.

Over the years I have put together a fairly capable PT car. Big brakes, good suspension, etc. I'd like to autoX the car next year in addition to regular street driving. The problem is the interior is stone stock. 1966 Chevelle bucket seats, lap belts, everything. I don't drive the car hard at all, envisioning the "what if" should the car leave the road. I've read and re-read the threads relating to roll bars vs cages. 3 point vs 4 point harnesses. I'm still not sure what direction I should head in. Your suggestions please.

If you don't slide out of the stock bucket seats I don't think you are really pushing the car even close to the point where you are going to have to worry about flipping the car in my opinion.
Especially if you have the suspension done on the car.

I have always thought the DSE bar and 4 point harnesses would really be idea for a street car. You eliminate the back seat safety when you have a bar though. The DSE does have a removable bar.

Safety is defintely a great thing to think about with these old cars.

From the limited info about your use of the car it sounds like you just need a modern 3 point seatbelt with a shoulder strap.

You could always use a torso strap as well:
