      17x15 inch wide wheels!!!!

Basically im having my 69 camaro mini tubbed with dse's kit as well as having the rear fenders rolled. So I'll have 6 extra inches of clearance, so im really thinking about putting 15 inch wide wheels under the car. Are there any problems I should be aware of anybody know of a tire company that makes tires big enough to fit on massive rims like these? Thanks guys.

The new Micket Thompson SR's are 17.5 inches wide and require a 15 inch wide wheel. Boyd's will make the wheels for you, or there are a few folks that can widen 10's or 12's for you.

      Anthony,

You're going to have to back half that '69 in order to get 17x15s back there. DSE's kit will allow for a maximum of a 345 series tire on a '69, and that's with a big frame knotch. IMHO, 345s work best on 13" wide wheels. To get anything bigger than that, you'll have to remove the stock rails and build a new set of rails a couple of inches inboard of where the stock rails sit. You'll also need custom wheel tubs. Basically when you get into this, you're doing more of a full tub and less of a mini-tub. If you're having DSE's kit installed, and rolling the fender lips, you're going to have more like 3.5-4" of extra clearance, not 6. Where are you getting 6" from? Typical mini-tub with DSE's kit is 3".

The only problem you should be aware about, is that unless you're running a custom front sub with provisions for very large front tires, the car is going to be extremely unbalanced. As a general rule of thumb, you don't really want more than a 60 or 70mm difference in tire stagger front to rear. So, if the biggest you're going to fit up front is a 245, you may want to be looking at 315s, or even better 295s.

I'm not trying to put down your idea or anything, just stating some facts.
