      new to coil overs

I am completely new to coilovers. You can see my project here:
      https://www.pro-touring.com/threads/...6-2010-Mustang

I have no idea what application the coilovers that came on the car are from. How do you buy coilovers, length? Based on what is in the pictures what am I looking for to replace them?
does it look like I am missing any coilover parts?
How do you determine how many pound coils to get?
my goal is for roadracing and autox

      Thanks for any help, Jim

I would call ridetech directly and go over what you have and your goals and they will help you out.

If you were directly replacing what you have you do this:
1-put the car at the desired ride height
2-measure the distance between the shock mounting points
3-choose closest coil over from here:
      http://www.ridetech.com/store/coil-overs/

To figure spring rates you use our spring rate calculator:
      http://www.ridetech.com/tech/spring-rate-calculator/

      Mounts:
We offer a number of different mounting options for our coil overs. Typically we use the following:
double shear: 1/2" bolt; 1.25" mount width
single shear: 5/8" forged stud; 1.25" mount width
However, we do have t-bars (trunnions) and stud mounts, as well as some other options for ring mounts.

      Shock Adjustability:
This all depends on what you want to do with the car.
If you are going for a full out track car, get the triple adjustable TQ's.
If you want a mostly driver with a few track events throughout the year, the rebound adjustable HQ's will likely be enough.
If you don't want to screw with knobs, and it's mostly a daily driver, the fixed valve RQ's will be all you need.

Then, call us, fax us, or hit us up on the web to discuss and/or order.

However, you are at a point that you may want to consider not only the coil overs, but how and where they mount.
It's easier to change the mounts now if want a different stroke shock, or if you want to move it for better motion ratio.
