Which vent is which? Heat/Def only system - '68 Camaro

This is a little embarrassing to ask but I haven't driven my car since early 2002 and I've forgotten.

The Astro Ball vents....are they ducted to heat or just to the cowl vent?

....and what about the vents in the kick panels?

      (hangs head in shame)

Reason I ask is that I am considering a heat/def only system for the car ( Page 50 here: http://www.vintageair.com/flipbook/ ) and in peeking under the dash it occurred to me that I'd forgotten how the system worked and was wondering how I'd plumb it up.

....anyone else make a small heat/def only unit that might integrate better?

The Astro Vents are ducted to the cowl only, no heat. The GM heater box is only ducted to the defogger vents and the floor.

Ahh, ok. How about the kick panel vents? Those of to the cowl too right?

Wondering if I can re-duct those astro vents to receive heated air.

Anyone know of another option for heat/def only other than the Vintage air unit above?

Yep, the kick panel vents are open to the cowl too. It would be difficult but I'm sure it could be done with a little creativity.

Looking at that page 50, I see they offer optional under dash ball vents. I would assume you could easily utilize your astro-vents instead of those. (also assuming you plug off the now open cowl vent that used to originally supply the astro-vent.) Just be a matter of splitting the one of the two outlets for floor and sending it to astro-vent or floor or both depending on your desires.
