      Recaro Sport

Well, still on the hunt for seats for my 69 Camaro. Had pretty much made my mind up to get some BMW E46 seats, but after looking at a few pairs most were discolored or faded, rips, burns etc. Anyway, looked at some new Recaros and liked the Sport more so than the Speed personally. Then looked at the price. After I regained consciousness started looking at used Recaros on Fleabay and noticed the Evo8-10s look suspiciously like the Sport. Some of them pretty much new for half the price. So thats my question: is it the same seat? I have read where some say the Evo seats are not real comfortable on a long drive but no personal experience. Any help appreciated.

      Hey Fish -
It may sound crazy but take a look at Fiero seats if you don't need power or heated, etc, etc. I'm on the tall side and need headroom. I chased around new bracketry, new foams, etc, etc to no avail. Looked at new aftermarket stuff - like Recaros - but like you, I choked on the sticker price. I stumbled upon some posts on Vette and 'stang sites indicating that Fiero seats are where it's at for increased headroom. The overall size and shape is quite similar to Recaros. I got a used pair for $100 and recover in houndstooth and black vinyl will be like $500-600. They feel 1000% more supportive than factory and that's with the old, busted foams before they are rebuilt. I can send you pics when they're done...should be awesome.

The problem of asking the "comfort" of bucket seats is that not everyone's bucket is the same size.

Heynow, I would love to see those when they are done. Do they make replacement foam and covers for them or are you having them made? Flydoc, that is too.funny! Fortunately for me I have an average bucket. Lol
