Vintage Air Gen IV - where did you mount your relays and circuit breaker?

As the title says, those of you who have installed the VA Gen IV, where did you mount the relays and circuit breaker? I'm assuming under the dash but don't like the idea of drilling holes into the firewall/plenum area due to potential rust problems caused by holes in that area. Does anyone have pics of theirs installed in a 67-68 Camaro?

      Thanks!

      Thanks!
I installed mine under the dash and i didn't like the idea of drilling holes in the firewall/plenum area, but I couldn't really find a good place to install them and I wanted to retain my glovebox.

I put the relays on the firewall, but put a dab of seam sealer on each screw and around the hole. I thought of using some velcro to mount the relays(cut out neatly so not to be seen) but then decided I'd be ok with the seam sealer. The circuit breaker I mounted on the back side of the fender up near the battery. Its hidden up inside the fender & all you can see is the screw head in the fender. There is already a hole in the fender there- i think it was for a ground wire on the origianl wiring. Scott

I went ahead and mounted them to the inside of the firewall behind where the glove box will go since I don't want more wiring under the hood. Thanks for the input guys.

I will take a photo showing where the relays are mounted and post it tomorrow. As for the circuit breaker, it must be mounted close to the battery. In my case the battery is mounted in the trunk, so I have to extend the wire for the circuit breaker all the way to the trunk, and the white wires for ground must be connected directly to the negative terminal as per VA instructions.

I welded a piece of 3/4" square stock under the dash (below the cowl) and attached my relays there (above the AC unit and behind the glove box ). The breaker I mounted to the dash itself under where the pad goes. If you don't want to penetrate the firewall or have to do any welding, you should be able to mount the relays and the breaker under the dash pad. There is quite a bit of room there above the glove box.

Not a Camaro but I used a Radio Shack project box for the driving lamp relays on my truck. Painted it body color and it disappears.

I'll be doing the same thing with all of the relays for Bad Ast.

What happens if your battery is in the rear of the car and you mount the circuit breaker towards the front of the car? I know that VA says mount it at the battery, but didnt know what problems this would cause? I noticed my circuit breaker seemed to be making a clicking sound when I would rev the car.....dont know if this is something to do with the distance or not???
