      got a ride in a 450HP car....

WOW... my friend Cliff has a 1st gen firebird with a fresh build 406 in it, desktopdyno showed almost 500HP so we think 450 is realistic...

He donated a set of seatrails for my new seats (BIG thanks for that!!) and said we needed to take a ride and check if his new (wider) wheels/tires rubbed.

When we were on the highway he floored it...I could not believe what happened...
      discovered 2 things:
1 - My Camaro with approx 250~275HP is lame
2 - I am even more motivated to finish my turbo project

Just had to share it while I am still on my adrenaline rush

it's a great time, that's for sure. Once you have it it's hard to go back. A couple months back I sold my 2003 Cobra and picked up a Toyota Tacomoa pickup. I went from 460rwhp 490rwtq to oh about 190 hp at the crank...on a good day.

I agree... My NA old engine made around 440hp and ran 12.9 at 109 in the quarter mile on street tires and i thought that was fast..

This spring i added a procharger and another 200+HP.. and HOLLYCRAP!!! MAN 650hp feels sooooo much faster than 440hp.. LOL

The adrenaline is just amazing... but you will always want to go faster! LOL

I just love a Big Block engine..My elky will run easy 12.50's and
i think it kinda fast, then i get into a friends BB 472 chevy in his
      70 C10 pick-up rear tubbed,front clip yada,yada, We go down to
the "test" spot sit.. there for a sec..he nails it..kinda feel the front
pick up..feels like someone is sitting on my chest for the first and
      second gears..he slows,tabs the G-tec.. yeah its a 10+sec ride.

I get out "dizzy" and tell him, well i kinda want that now..get in the
elky, and it drives like a sled..lol.Thinkin about shootin it and putting
it out of it misery..lol its a EFI'd 383 slugger.

Small blocks have amazing power, but there is something about a
radical cam big exhaust popin BB that brings a warm smile on my face.

Now these guys like lillard, dupont, streetking, bernard with F2 stroked
or pro-charged aluminum 500+BB's are definitely having sex right now..lol

Horsepower is great, and all, but it sucks if you can't hook it up.

I thought my Monza was hot ****, but it sucked at the drag strip. I finally rounded up some slicks and put 'em on.

Not knowing what to expect, I did a few street tire type launches, trying to sneak up on it. Not much better, but more bite.

Last run my buddy tells me to "Just HAMMER it, it'll hold!"
So I stage, and hold it off the rev limiter scared to death!(7K) Will it break? Will it spin? Will it flip over? Last amber I side step the clutch and OH MY GOD! It hopped the front end off the ground as I powershifted to a 7.64 at 93mph in the 1/8.

I can't put into words the first heart stopping 60' with slicks. It was a catapult launch to a noob like me! (1.776)

LMAO!!! That is exactly what I thought the first time I put slicks on my car!! I had ran it at the track on radials and it was at 14.xx at 122mph. I put some old junk wore out slicks on it and OMG!!!
