How much preload on dse coilovers?

I have dse front clip and quadralink in my 1gen camaro. I did pre set the spring adjusters as high as i could by hand and when i lowered it on stands the front wheels rub inner front ends.

Coils supposed to be lsx versions as is my engine. I am just rushing here and should just turn springs higher via spanner wrench?

They take a good amount of pre-load. What springs and shocks? Afco or JRI, 450# or 550#

You can run them up until they are roughly 3/8" spacing before they will bind.

Thanks guys!! I was bit worried allready because it looks wierd having so "small" amount of spring over shock. Fronts are SF0800.250.0425 and rears are 041801 250

      I guess its 425's and 250's.

i had the same issue on my mustang build with the JRI shocks they were cranked all the way down and my car was still slammed up front they then sent me stiffer rate springs and it fixed the issue. the way it was before was horrible the coilover assembly had to be removed, compressed out of the car then assembled back because they could not be tightened by hand. i never experienced any coilover kits using this much preload.

I would change to a 550# front spring, the 425/450 springs are too soft and will keep settling in my experience, don't worry about the ride suffering most of the ride quality comes from the rear springs.

You will not get enough preload on the coilover by hand. Use a spanner and assuming you are using the JRi coilovers set them with the collar in approx @ 1/3 on the threaded body of the coilover. You can always dial it up more as needed.
