      Forgelines...Not in the cards.

Well guys...just looking at the budget, this military guy is not going to be able to buy the Forgelines I have been eye balling for a couple of years now. I'm looking at the DS3 wheels http://www.forgeline.com/products/pe...large=1&asdf=2

Can someone point me in a direction where I could find a wheel that looks very similar and good quality but suited for my budget? I would surely like to replace my Summit Racing Special wheels.

There's a set if you've never seen them. Whether or not the slightly different bolt pattern is a problem is a big debate, but you can cut the lug seats to correct them to 5x4.75

I'll be doing what this guy did with my Racing Hart wheels in 5x120

Wow, I had no idea those type or wheels existed..The problem of course is the backspacing and lug pattern. I'm not equipped to make those kind of mods.

I have a set of new Privat Legende's that are a stepped lip 5 spoke but not a split spoke. I love the wheels, but they won't work with my subframe so I am will wind up selling them. They are a bmw wheel and would work well with an adapter with the backspacing. If you are open to running wheels for bmw's with an adapter you have some inexpensive options.

      Forgelines...Not in the cards.

Rushforth wheels are a little cheaper, their Livewire wheel is similar.

Boze has a very similar setup and are priced right. http://www.bozeforged.com/lateralg.html

TSW also has a set and these guys should be right around $1200-1500. http://www.tsw.com/alloy_wheels_mirabeau.php

Rushforth and Boze are good choices, will be in the $3k range. Billet Specialties has a number of split 5 spoke wheels starting at less than $2k a set. I can help with any of the brands listed. PM me for pricing.

Billet Specialties has some that are very close. Can just paint the center to get it to match. I got 17s from them and I paid around $1300 total and got them thru Matts Classic Bowties.

This is the one I got if you want better pictures of it in person.

Here is their other that looks close.

I found Centerline to have a reasonable value... About $1300 (plus custom finish) for this set of four rotary forged aluminum wheels in custom offset...

I second the Weld Racing RT-S71 wheels. About half the cost of Forgelines but they are still a billet wheel in a whole range of widths and offsets and they are a PT forum sponsor.

Wow, those are a nice wheel at a reasonable price. This is the first one I've come across in a 12" wide rim at this price range. Just might have to go with something similar to these.

Thanks JDman I had completely missed these.

Weld was releasing a few other designs at sema, but I think they were in a 20 inch diameter and offsets for modern muscle car offerings. I like the five spoke. If I ever get to the point of needing a track wheel I would pick those up. I like the black with the ball milled detail.

OP, I think you should set a budget in this quest. It will help you and others trying to assist figure out what you are realisticly looking to pay for a set of wheels. I think a lot of us here would love a set of Forgelines, but it just wasn't cost effective for me.
