Well I do know with project Chilli Pepper they narrowed the frame in a similar manor and braced the rear cross member as well...the "middle" of the frame was also quite similar...id say definitely copy what you see in the photos..those old g body frames are just as crappy as they old a body frames.....very little torsional rigidity which is exactly what you need for a performance engine and "spirited" driving lol, I've seen some people box the lower front a arm mounts as well...box them in..

so how are you going to level you frame, or did you already do the mods??? I need a few ideas before I make the leap!!

I have a wood frame stand I was going to square up the frame on, the check for measurements then weld up supports!!

Made some screw adjusters like they did.....just used long bolts as opposed to the expensive swivel pads they used then tack the frame to the bolt....make sure you have a jam nut on there to so once you set the height where you need you can lock it in place . To make something similar to them you'll need probably about 40 feet of beam..2 15 foot and 2 5 foot, then just throw some tubing across the beams where you want to place the height adjusters a Lil tacking and away you go

FWIW, guy is now making kit to box in the center section of the GM G-body frame. I ordered one and it arrived yesterday. It is weld-in. Will let everyone know how it looks when open the box.

Boxing the center frame rails is the easy part 4 inch plate 1/8 thick and a cut out for the mid body mount!! I'm South of Pittsburgh 15317 about 20 Mins. near the Meadows Race Track

On the Frame Jig, I would have to make mine a little longer for the Elco, that's a lot of work for one project. LOL

Just remember with bracing, make sure that you keep in mind all the parts besides the frame you have to clear- floor pan, exhaust, fuel tank, trailing arms, etc. I ran into some slight issues bracing my frame and then putting the body back on the frame and the rest of the car back together. It was all relatively easy to overcome, but I had to change some plans as a result. Good luck!

LOL, Hey Ben I have been measuring everything before I pull the shell off! I have plenty of pics for reference, some are yours! LOL I plan to run the cross member, right behind the rear floor pan, plenty of room to install a 2x4 with exhaust cut outs and Loop. I also have a new floor pan to use while I modify the frame!!
