'69 Camaro - Options to lower front seats

Hi folks - I'm just about done with my car (for now) but I've got a significant problem with my front seats. Running factory frames and TMI Sport R foams/covers. I've been down the "new foams and covers are thicker' road but I'd like the community's thoughts on how I can modify the set-up to drop the seats 2". I have extenders installed already which picked up some leg room, but my head is still smashing the headliner. Does anyone know of low-profile aftermarket tracks or is it feasible to thin the seat bottom frame/spring assembly? There must be some option aside from scrapping the $$$ set-up I've got and going with some generic aftermarket seats. I really do not want to tear up carpet and start modding the floor pan if it can be avoided.

Me too. Have new seat frames, TMI Sport foam and Comfort Weave covers. With old stock seats, I had 6 inches of head room, not I have to slouch in seat. Measurements of old seat and new seat sitting side by side are within 1/4 inch of each other from height of seat bottom, but combination of new springs in seat frames and denser foam take headroom away. I am about ready to scrap it all and go with Procar seats because I don't know what else to do.

Yeah, that has been an issue with those TMI seats for tall guys... unfortunately I don't think there is a good way to lower them.

If you can weld, or have a friend that can weld, build your own seat brackets. After many hours of research and fooling around with the existing seat brackets its the only solution I could come up with.
Now car is perfect for me (and 99% of mu buddies that try it out) and I'm 6.2", now about an inch from the ceiling

Thx Steve - Do you happen to have any pics of what you welded up? I think this may be my only option at this point.

I used brackets from wedge engineering on mine with Corbea seats. lots of headroom and I can slide back till I can't reach the pedals (sucks for rear passenger though!)

I cant remember which model I got. Call em up and tell them your situation. Just mt 2 cents.
