      Corvette alternator connection?

I have the GM Performance parts LS controller kit & am wondering what port to use for my gauge, & what are the others for?

For your voltage gauge you want to connect it to a battery "+" source. Gauge is to read system voltage. I have my attached to a terminal stud that connects battery "+" to the alternator charging wire (big wire attached to alternator).
      Hope this makes sense

Makes sense what you are saying, but that isn't how mine is connected. It is connected through this plug, not directly to the positive on the battery.

I can't help but I have the same controller set up. Still in the boxes though. I'll be watching to see if a solution comes in.

It's the exciter circuit. The ECM controls when the alternator creates current to charge the battery. Why GM uses alternators with a 4 wire connection when it only uses the one wire is a mystery.

Your connection to the battery is done with an 10g wire connected to the stud on the back of the alternator.

As far as connecting a voltage gauge, any battery or switched battery connection will do.

So i can get rid of the wire to the alternator needed for the gauge & connect it to something switched at the fusebox?

Just to be clear, the one wire to the alternator is to excite it. Not sure what other wiring you have you are referring to getting rid of, but consider the voltage gauge a totally separate , non LS item. As said , ANY 12 v switched source. For simplicity, lets just say the 12v power wire for the gauge clusters, which I used since it's right there by the voltage gauge.
