Value of 67 Camaro convertible?? Help with motor id.

I have been looking for some time for a convertible black 67-69 Camaro. I have come across one the "looks" like what I want, but the motor is questionable. The seller states it has a 502, but cannot give me or find any numbers on the block. He basically knows nothing about the build. He said he bought from a consignment and it used to be owned by a pro athlete in the Carolinas. he has had it on ebay for quite some time now, but never reaching his reserve. Any feedback would be very much appreciated?

I'm not to familiar with the 502's but saw this on another forum a while back, hope it helps...

The first year or two they were produced '90-91, they were short deck Bowtie blocks and had a bowtie cast near the drain plug on the right(passenger) side. After that they became Gen V and later on became Gen VI. Both the Gen V and the Gen VI will have 8.2 cast on the side(s) of the block. The early version Bowtie were nice blocks, The Gen V and VI are okay but have one piece rear main seals, no fuel pump provision and the Gen VI has a cast aluminum timing cover with 6 instead of 10 bolts. Cam snouts, timing sets, cam retainers and misc. other things vary through the changes too. All of them should have steel cranks and dimple rods with 7/16" bolts. All marine 502s had rectangle port heads.

They only show two different casting numbers for the 502...The first is 10237300 for the gen 6 chevy produced from 1996 and up,,,and the other is 14096859 for the gen 5
