      Running AC Drain Line

Hey guys, since I hate drilling holes in my camaro and I wanted to run this by you. I'm installing a Vintage Air Gen IV system in my 67 Camaro and the place VA wants you to run the AC drain would be right over my header. What do you guys think about running the AC Drain line here and then have it run out here? My concern about having it drain here is, the water will be draining on the ground in line with the passenger side rear tire. Does anyone know if alot of water will drain from this line while driving to cause traction issues? I'm looking for a clean way to run this hose.

my 2 cents unless you put that drain all the way through your asking for trouble..
From a place you will not see comes a sound you will not hear....

Yeah, the rubber hose would go all the way through and dump out on the ground.

The amount of water would depend entirely on the outside humidity levels, the efficiency of the AC system, and how cool you have the system set to.

Even at it's most extreme it is highly unlikley you would ever notice. The only possibility I could think of would be a situation where you are idling for a long period without moving and then want to do a hole shot. But even then with the diameter of a watter puddle required to interrupt traction, a inch or five difference in it's placement wouldnt matter.

And ya---running it where you propose is WAY better than having it drip on the header.

Here is another picture of what I want to do. Has anyone done the AC drain line like this or has a better way to run the AC drain line so it has a clean factory look? One thing I would do is cut the hose so it isn't hang so far out from underneath the car.

I ran one on a 69 today and angled it over above the top of the rail by where the stock fuel line runs but I had to order a longer piece of hose than the VA kit came with. Didn't take any pics but I can next time I work on the car. If you angle it over to the corner inside the car instead of running straight back you'll probably have to use an Adel clamp or something to keep the hose from hanging down under the VA box where folks might catch it with a foot.

I ran mine where the kit suggests and the hose was plenty long so I clamped it to front subframe and it will miss all my exhaust.

A lot of the OE's drain on the exhaust. It helps keep from puddling under the vehicle and having customers bring the car in for a leak. I don't see anything wrong with putting it on the exhaust unless it bothers you. At least you wouldn't have puddles under the car.
