      (Partial) A/C kits -under dash

      Hello everyone,

I am most of the way finished through the build on my truck, and I am to the point where I need an AC system. Because I have adapted a 'modern' driveline to an older vehicle, I already have a lot of the components for an A/C system. However, I am lacking an under dash A/C & Heater box to fit under the dash.

I do not want a 'universal' A/C box that hangs underneath the dash, I want it all tucked in like an OEM unit. Does anybody have any suggestions for just the under dash blower/heater/AC box (w/ or w/o controls)? All I can seem to find are the huge hang-down units or complete kits...

      Thanks for the help

Check with some of the suppliers like Vintage Air. I am sure the sell you just what you need. Are you needing everything but the compressor set-up?

Second on the vintage air. Having a truck, you could get one of their smaller units that should fit nicely behind your glove box.

thanks guys, I have everything but the under dash stuff (box w/ the heater core, fan, & evaporator). The glove box is in the center of the dash, and im also not going to be installing it so I actually have more room than most classic vehicles.

Evaporators & controls are available separately from Vintage Air dealers. What make/year/model truck are you working on? If it is one that VA has a SureFit system for it will be very easy. If not, there are different sized evaporators available. Find a VA dealer who has the mock up units available. You want to fit as large an evaporator as possible w/o it getting in the way.
