Questions Before 1st time Fire on LS

Long story short, I am on yr 6 on my build. I have a short term goal to hear the engine fire, even if only for a minute (a little accomplishment to keep on keepin on). I have my PSI harness and ECM and I have my AAW classic update harness that I am starting to install.

Can someone give a quick list of what the engine requires to run? I know the normal stuff, but what about MAF, coolant sensor, IAT ect.

Next question, I have a GTO T56 installed. No drive shaft but has a factory cap over the shaft. I have my new slave and braided bleeder lines installed but no clutch master. Will there be a problem cranking and running the engine for a quick few seconds or minute?

      Thanks,

      Shannon

I definitely will add them in, but will the engine run without the MAF and IAT? Right now, I only have the sensors on the throttle body, but nothing farther out hooked to it.

My LS3 Crate would fire without the MAF but would quickly die. As soon as I mocked up the intake with the MAF in it, it ran fine. Not sure about the IAT.

patience padawan hook it all up then fire it up, don't want to be chasing a gremlin that turns out to be some stupid little switch or ground wire. as far as year 6 i'm going on year 9 and you're stiil farther along than my 73 formula, ls 408, t56, ridetech, etc, etc. good luck and don't give up

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious and or asking a question, but don't you need to prime the oil system before starting it up after its been sitting for a while.

There's not an easy way I know of on an LS. I went overboard on the assembly lube when I built it.

I removed the spark plugs and turned the engine over in 15 second intervals / starter cools to get the oil pressure up. It came up pretty quick.

On some of the HorsepowerTV episodes I've seen them use some sort of a pressure pump they hook air up to in order to pressurize the oiling system in LS motors before first fire up.

I highly suggest this. I would not spin the engine over to prime it (at least initially). I made my self a priming tool out of a garden sprayer.
