More pictures of the scoops. I spent several hours last week making sure they were formed in as perfectly as I could get them, yet I have found myself spending more time on them this week while prepping the quarters. Back half is pretty much finished. I had to raise the hood another 1/8" for clearance because when I initially measured I forgot to put the front pulley in place. Car is being dropped off tomorrow for custom intake and exhaust.

After curing overnight. Now she is off to the fabrication shop for the custom intake.

This looks great. Which 3m adhesive are you using on the glass->steel parts?

3m panel bond 8115. It has a long set up period, so it gives you plenty of time to maneuver the panels around for perfect fitment. I have yanked on the upper and lower scoops with all of my body weight and they don't budge.

Car looks a little rough currently since the body work is showing through the primer. It needs to be scuffed again and then sprayed with two more coats of epoxy primer, but i didnt have time before taking it to the fabrication shop yesterday. Major goal was just to get one coat on so that the humidity would not create surface rust on the exposed metal. Glass is temporarily set in place to check fitment of trim.

Looks great. This is the same suspension we're using on our fastback project (I haven't posted any pics of it yet). Using a Coyote again but a 6 speed auto this time. After all the work on my coupe with the Art Morrison chassis the labor for making the Total Control work definitely looks easy. Good luck, I'll be following this one!

      Geoff,
Actually, the TCI system has been a total nightmare and I will certainly never use any of their products again nor recommend them. I've spent 4 thousand extra dollars setting the system up correctly and there is more to come. I had to use a custom pedal assembly because there isnt even room for a standard MC, besides an original 1 bowl unit due to the engine sitting too high. I had to make my own transmission crossmember because again, the engine sits too high, which also led to cutting out the trans tunnel. Engine sitting higher=transmission sitting higher. The firewall needs to be heavily modified because the bellhousing cant be removed with engine installed due to clearance issues...the heater box will need to be moved to the right if possible because there is not room to connect the fittings. Lets see, what else... TCI sent me 3 sets of engine mounts, the first two sets didnt work. I ended up cutting the crossmember for clearance even though they lied and stated they had done 3 of these builds and nothing needed modification, just drop the engine in. None of the parts are painted or coated, including the bolts, so you will need to paint everything immediately and replace all hardware with stainless, unless you like the rusty look. The steering geometry is way off because they use 30-50 ford roadster spindles from their other kits. I guess they were too lazy to engineer new steering arms and steering rack brackets that would fit correctly. Also, the camber adjustment was so off on my car that i had to purchase 500.00 dollar adjustable arms because it was too negative before adding even a single shim. I also had to buy their standard spindles because the drop units were off so much that i had to max out the coilovers just to keep the wheel from sitting half way into the wheel well. If i adjusted it to a comfortable ride setting, the wheels would have been stuffed almost entirely into the wheel well. TCI promised to send me a check for all of the problems and to reimburse me for the crossmember fabrication, the cost of the spindles, and the adjustable control arms, but that was just a tactic to attempt to keep me from speaking out about how crappy their product is, and of course, they have not sent a check! I hate to break the bad news to you, but if you havent installed it yet, i would send it back or sell it and go with the rod and customs kit. It is engineered correctly, unlike the Total Crap Involved unit!!! Even if you have it partially welded in, i would cut it out. If you use the rod and customz unit your engine will sit at the correct height, which will help you avoid tons of fabrication work on the firewall and transmission tunnel, not to mention the need for tons of expensive aftermarket parts.

My Dad has their kit in a 70 MACH 1, also doing a Coyote swap. He's already installed the kit but hasn't got to the point of fitting the motor and transmission. He's running a Ford Racing 4R70W with his Coyote and I wonder if this tranny will have tunnel fitment issues. I believe his intent is to run a hydra boost brake setup from a Cobra. Sorry to hear all the issues you're having, I really like you're build and wish you nothing but good luck here on out. I also appreciate you sharing with us, these issues you're having. Forums like this, help make the products we buy and use better. When problems arise and they're made public, it gives others a chance to come up with solutions to issues that we might otherwise not known existed.

A hydraboost will not fit. Not even an SN95 master cylinder by itself(no booster) will fit if you are using the Total Crap Involved "coyote" front end system. I had to use a custom pedal assembly with a 90 degree booster system, which mounts under the dash. It took me 11 hours to install the custom pedal assembly and i had to eliminate the wiper motor. Just another plus added on to my build thanks to TCI.

Thanks for the info! I had to do a ton of work on my car with the Art Morrison setup and was hoping to avoid some of that with this car. I will look at other options. Thanks again

You are more than welcome. I wish someone had warned me. If TCI put half the time into their products that they do into their marketing campaign, they might have a decent product. I would go with the detroit speed system. It might be more expensive up front, but it will save you that amount of money in extra parts and time, not to mention opportunity cost. It is an incredibly well engineered system.
If it is out of your price range, i would check out the rod and customz system.

The fab shop finished cutting and welding the throttle body elbow today to provide clearance for the hood. Ill need to clean up the welds and then have it powdercoated.

TCI actually sent a check to cover a portion of the additional fabrication and parts expenses, so I will give them credit for caring a little and acknowledging that the kit wasn't as advertised.

Air intake is completed. Im not crazy about how in your face the filter is, so i might try to utilize the roush box that came with the kit, but due to space limitations, i doubt i will be able to.

      Nice build.

If you do not like the filter I can see how you can make a 45 into the inner fender area and place it another 90 degree's downward like the Anderson Ford Motorsport Procharger piece. I think you have plenty of room to so that and draw only atmospheric cool air. I think you can move it to where the shock towers were.

In a world of custom hot rods

You have to give TCI a little credit for coming through as promised by sending you some money back.

Sorry to see all your problems though, good job on the fabrication.

That might be the best option in the end. Cooler air might be necessary for the supercharger.
