      Any benefit from this?

I have a 2012 Ram R/T that's already dropped 5" in the back. I don't plan to go any lower but I do plan in the near future to rework the rear link bars. I have adjustable bars in it now, both the 4 link and panhard bar but after the drop the link bars are in an abominable position. Instant center is about a foot in front of the rear wheels...at the ground. lol
Anyway, the question is about the rest of the rear suspension. The shocks aren't at the best angle but I can live with them I suppose and as I'm sure y'all know it's a coil spring suspension with the coils on top of the axle. I also have adjustable QA1 shocks on it now.
Since we're reworking the link bars to get them into shape is it worth it to ditch the coils and shocks and go with a QA1 coilover set-up?
It's really not that much more fab work but is there that much more benefit to coil overs compared to coil springs/standard shocks with a 4 link?

I wouldn't give up hope after one day. Someone will probably come along, but you should post pictures as it almost always helps for advice. The only benefit that I would see with a coilover is the adjustability, but if your shocks are at a bad angle (what angle?) then I wouldn't do it unless you are remounting them.

I've got the 4 link covered...no worries about that.
Just not sure of any benefit to switching from coil on axle with a separate shock to a coilover behind the axle.
I can easily straighten up the shocks and already have the adjustable shocks on it, no need for ride height adjustment since it sits where I want it now.
I'm only asking about any ride comfort or handling benefit to the coilover vs coil spring.

Coil springs vs coil over springs

I like coilovers do to the fact you can dial in ride height and adjust corner weights. They are a little lighter and easier to change the rates.

Coil springs assuming all things equal will perform exactly the same, except they may have a little more weight.
